Flexa
Digital asset payment gateway with 99+ assets and 0% conversion or custody fees on payouts
What is Flexa?
Flexa is a digital asset payment network for online checkout, mobile apps and physical points of sale. Its payment stack supports 99+ digital assets, authorizes transactions in less than a second, and lets merchants receive payouts in their chosen currency or digital currency.
Company and leadership
Flexa was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in New York City. Co-founder Trevor Filter is chief executive officer after taking the role in June 2026. Co-founder Daniel McCabe is the former CEO, general counsel, chief compliance officer and COO. Tyler Spalding and Zachary Kilgore are also co-founders. Pantera Capital led Flexa's $14.1 million seed round in April 2019, with participation from 1kx, Nima Capital and Access Ventures.
How the gateway works
Flexa uses collateralization through the AMP token to authorize payments before the underlying transaction settles. Its stack supports self-custody wallet payments and offers low-code and no-code integrations for merchant systems. Flexa Components provides mobile SDKs for iOS, Android and React Native, while Payment Links, QR codes and Mini App Payments support online and in-person checkout. Flexa Terminal is a point-of-sale product for crypto and stablecoin acceptance.
The company says its infrastructure guarantees authorization in 500 milliseconds or less on every network. Flexa's website lists Ethereum as the supported chain for its AMP collateral system. The payment network supports 99+ digital assets.
Fees and availability
Flexa lists conversion and custody fees on payouts at 0%. It also lists chargeback fees at $0 because its push-payment model eliminates chargebacks. Merchants can choose the payout currency and schedule. Flexa is available in the United States, Canada, El Salvador and 37 countries and territories across the Single Euro Payments Area. Its infrastructure handles KYC and verification for merchants, with NMLS ID 1840599 listed as a license identifier.
Track record and risks
Flexa integrated Base Pay as a default checkout option in October 2025. It expanded across Europe in July 2026. The AMP system has security reviews from Trail of Bits, Praetorian and ConsenSys Diligence, including reviews in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026. The business relies on an intermediary and collateral while funds are processed, introducing counterparty risk. Crypto payments are generally irreversible, and volatility can affect value before settlement. Regulatory requirements vary across jurisdictions. AMP collateral and network operation also add technical dependencies to the payment flow.

Our review
Flexa delivers sub-second, fraud-proof digital asset payments across physical and online checkouts, but operates as a fully hosted, compliance-gated network without a self-hosted merchant option.
Flexa is a merchant payment network designed to connect digital currencies with point-of-sale infrastructure. The network authorizes payments in less than a second using collateralized pools backed by the AMP token. Because payments settle directly as push transactions, merchants face zero chargebacks and no unexpected reversals, which removes dispute overhead.
The platform accepts more than 99 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins like USDC. In October 2025, Flexa integrated Base Pay as a default checkout option. Base Pay supports passkey confirmations at brands such as Chipotle, Sheetz, and Regal. Flexa lets businesses configure flexible payouts in fiat currency or digital assets with 0% conversion or custody fees on merchant payouts. In July 2026, the network expanded from the United States, Canada, and El Salvador into 37 European countries across the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).
Trade-offs center on control and compliance. Flexa is not a self-hosted gateway. As a regulated entity holding NMLS ID 1840599, the company handles customer identity checks and mandates business verification. Unhosted, permissionless storefronts cannot use the service. Merchants also depend on the collateralization mechanics of the AMP system.
Flexa was founded in New York in 2018 and has raised $14.1M in funding from Pantera Capital, 1kx, Nima Capital, and Access Ventures. The AMP system has security reviews from Trail of Bits, ConsenSys Diligence, and Praetorian through 2026, with no documented security breaches. Co-founder Trevor Filter leads as chief executive officer following a June 2026 transition. Flexa supports omnichannel retail and point-of-sale payment acceptance.

What users say about Flexa
User sentiment is predominantly positive, with community members praising Flexa's merchant-friendly payment infrastructure, direct wallet spending, and instant settlement.
In their own words
“REVOLUTIONARY $AMP Flexa Network powered by $AMP is pure infrastructure alpha. This isn’t hype — it’s real payments, real merchants, real rails, settling instantly while others stay theoretical.”
“the problem with all these crypto cards for spending is that they continue to use the legacy payment rails, which have numerous issues including cost and privacy.”
“They should use Flexa.co retail payment solution. It runs over pure digital rails and all transactions are collateralized in a decentralized manner by community (meaning users can earn a portion of the transaction fee for the service of staking their crypto).”
