Tangem Pay
A virtual Visa card funded with stablecoins, issued by Rain and built into Tangem Wallet
What is Tangem Pay?
Tangem Pay is a virtual Visa card in the Tangem Wallet app. Rain, a Visa Principal Member, issues the card, while Paera LLC provides the card program. The Basic plan has no monthly fee and pays 1% cashback in USDC on eligible purchases, subject to merchant categories and regional availability.
Who is behind it
Tangem Pay is separate from Tangem AG's non-custodial hardware wallet. Tangem co-founder Andrey Kurennykh is identified as a board member and lead consultant, with more than 20 years of experience in technology and management across the digital assets industry. The card program is provided by Paera LLC, and Rain handles card issuance. Tangem Pay was listed in Tangem's company timeline in 2024 and was reported as launched or rolled out in November 2025.
How the card works
A Tangem Wallet is required to activate the card. After government-issued ID verification and eligibility checks, the app issues a virtual Visa card, usually within 5 minutes and in rare cases within 48 hours. Users can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay for online and in-store payments, and can withdraw cash at contactless ATMs.
Funding supports USDC or USDT deposits on Polygon, Base, BNB Smart Chain and Arbitrum. Users can also swap a stablecoin from a supported network directly into the card account or transfer USD from a U.S. bank account. The card balance is held in a smart contract account controlled by the cardholder, and available USDC or USDT can be withdrawn to Tangem Wallet.
Fees and limits
The Basic plan costs $0 and includes three cards per user, a $10,000 daily spending limit and 1% cashback in USDC on eligible purchases. Plus costs $29.99 per month. The fee is waived with $4,500 in monthly spending or $65,000 in Yield Mode, and the plan has a $50,000 daily limit with 2% cashback in USDC on eligible purchases.
ACH bank transfers cost $1, or $0 on Plus. FedWire transfers cost $11. Crypto top-ups incur network fees, while purchases have no transaction fee. Foreign-currency purchases use Visa exchange rates and may incur cross-border fees. ATM withdrawals cost 4% on Basic and 2% on Plus, with a $250 per-transaction limit and up to three withdrawals per 24 hours.
Availability and risks
Tangem Pay is available in the United States and selected countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Country and U.S. state eligibility varies. KYC is required for every cardholder, and Sumsub handles identity checks while Elliptic handles transaction monitoring.
The card is a separate program from the Tangem wallet even though the main wallet remains non-custodial. Physical cards are not generally available yet. Foreign-exchange charges and ATM fees limit how the card can be used, while cashback depends on plan terms and eligible purchases. Tangem reported that more than 6 million wallets had shipped across 230 countries by 2025.

Our review
Tangem Pay combines self-custodial wallet access with USDC spending, but eligibility is regional and the card account still requires Rain-led identity checks.
Tangem Pay is a virtual Visa card inside the Tangem Wallet app. Rain, a Visa Principal Member, issues the card, while Paera LLC provides the program.
Users can swap a supported stablecoin from Tangem Wallet or deposit USDC and USDT on Polygon, Base, BNB Smart Chain, or Arbitrum. U.S. customers can also fund the account through ACH or FedWire. The balance sits in a smart contract account controlled by the cardholder and can be withdrawn to Tangem Wallet.
Basic has no monthly fee or virtual-card issuance fee, no purchase transaction fee, and a $10,000 daily spending limit. It pays 1% cashback in USDC. Plus raises the limit to $50,000 and cashback to 2%, but costs $29.99 monthly unless its waiver conditions apply. Prestige advertises 4% cashback and a $100,000 limit, but costs $999 as a yearly payment. Foreign-currency purchases use Visa exchange rates and may incur cross-border fees. ATM withdrawals cost 4% on Basic and 2% on Plus, with a $250 per-transaction limit.
Availability is narrower than the Visa acceptance footprint suggests. The card is offered in the United States and selected countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa, with country and state eligibility checks. Government-issued ID verification is required, and Sumsub handles identity checks while Elliptic monitors transactions.
Tangem's wider track record adds context: the company says it shipped more than 6 million wallets across 230 countries by 2025. Andrey Kurennykh is a co-founder and lead consultant with more than 20 years in technology and digital assets.

What users say about Tangem Pay
Tangem offers seedless security and a relatively easy mobile setup. Complaints include transfer blocks, notifications, and limited Tangem Pay availability by region.
In their own words
“I don’t use my ledger for swaps much. The core features I care about are cold storage, ability to use altcoins, and ease of managing keys securely.”
“Hello, Well, I might be a little bit biased, but I'd say go with Tangem 😄 >Which one are you using, and how long have you had it? Currently using the Ring, I was probably amongst the first people to have it. But I got my first Tangem in 2023 >Any setup or recovery headaches?”
“Balances not updating I know there are a lot of threads on this but I’ve tried every fix I could find and it’s not working on both of my wallets and multiple devices (wife’s phone and mine). My balances are stuck and not changing, doesn’t match the market.”
“1 BTC stuck on Katana in a seedless Tangem card. Has anyone here ever gotten a network added? I use DeFi heavily, across a lot of chains and a lot of wallets. Roughly 1 BTC, held as an ERC-20, has been sitting at a Tangem-derived address on Katana (chain ID 747474) since March.”
“Tangem and Its Payment Systems Being Janky I have purchased 3x using Tangem before today with NO issues. Today 0730 on June 11, 2026 my card was rejected four times. It is the SAME card I used prior. I entered all info including three email codes. It keeps saying card can't be authorized.”
