What is KAST?
KAST is a custodial stablecoin money app with Visa cards, US account numbers and EU IBANs. Account holders can receive payments, hold digital dollars and spend at more than 150 million merchants in 170+ countries. KAST reports 1.4M users and $5B in annualized transaction volume as of October 2026.
Company and backers
KAST was founded by Raagulan Pathy and Daniel Bertoli. Pathy is co-founder and CEO, and previously served as Circle’s vice president for Asia Pacific and CEO for Singapore. Bertoli is a former partner at Quona Capital, a fintech investment fund focused on neobanks. The company is based in the Cayman Islands.
KAST has raised $90M across reported funding rounds. Hong Shan and Peak XV Partners led its $10M seed round in December 2024. QED Investors and Left Lane Capital co-led an $80M Series A in March 2026, with participation from Peak XV Partners, HSG and DST Global Partners.
How the account works
The account is custodial, so balances sit within KAST’s account structure rather than in a self-custody wallet. Users can deposit USDT and USDC across 10+ chains, as well as PENGU and 25+ other coins. The balance is spendable through Visa without a separate conversion step.
KAST offers Visa Platinum and Visa Infinite cards, including virtual and physical cards. It supports ACH payments, SEPA transfers and wires, as well as transfers to supported payout countries. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are supported. Identity verification is required. Biometric login, multifactor authentication, encryption and fraud monitoring are available as account protections.
Fees and rewards
Standard membership is free and includes a 1.5% cashback rate. Premium costs $1,000 per year and offers 2% cashback, while Private costs $10,000 per year and offers 3%. Higher tiers also increase the stated Reserve reward rate to 10% and 12%, compared with 8% for Standard. Transfers between KAST accounts are free.
Reserve rewards are introductory 2026 rates, and the offer ends on 1 July 2027.
Availability and track record
KAST operates in 170+ countries and supports 30+ currencies, with account features subject to supported markets and terms. It launched stablecoin cashback of up to 3% in May 2026, Reserve in August 2026 and KAST Business in September 2026.
The main limitations are custodial exposure and reliance on regulated partners for card and payment services. Reserve rewards add program terms and a stated rate change, while higher cashback requires expensive annual memberships.

Our review
KAST combines global Visa spending with stablecoin balances and account rails, but its custodial model, high paid-tier fees and limited fee detail raise the cost of access.
KAST is a custodial prepaid Visa product built around stablecoin balances rather than a self-custody wallet. It offers Visa Platinum and Visa Infinite cards, a US account number, an EU IBAN, and spending at 150M+ merchants in 170+ countries. KYC is required, and financial services come through regulated partners rather than KAST itself being a bank.
The account accepts USDT, USDC, PENGU and 25+ other coins across 10+ chains. Balances can be spent directly from the card, which removes a separate conversion step. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are supported. Transfers between KAST accounts are free. Membership ranges from free Standard to $1,000 per year for Premium and $10,000 per year for Private.
Rewards are more clearly defined than the fee structure. Standard offers 1.5% cashback, Premium 2%, and Private 3%, with cashback paid in dollars and subject to MCC restrictions. Premium and Private also require substantial annual fees. KAST Reserve advertises 8% to 12% rewards on USD balances under a 2026 introductory offer, with the rate changing from 1 July 2027.
The company has a short operating history, founded in 2023 or 2024 in its public materials, but it reports 1.4M users and $5B in annualized transaction volume as of October 2026. Its backers include QED Investors, Left Lane Capital, Peak XV Partners, HSG and DST Global Partners, with $90M raised across reported rounds. KAST cites encryption, device security, fraud monitoring, biometric login and multi-factor authentication, but the product still depends on its regulated partners.
KAST suits freelancers and global workers who want stablecoin spending with bank-transfer access.

“Terrible experience, I do not recommend it I tried to receive a SWIFT transfer with KAST and it was rejected. I submitted all the supporting documentation they requested, and they assured me everything was fine and told me to try again.”
“Scam - blocked This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. I wired money to my account, and immediately after the transfer, my account was blocked. Support told me I’d receive a final review within 2–3 business days, but now it’s the 4th business day and I still have no resolution.”
