What is 1inch Card?
1inch Card is a prepaid Mastercard for spending supported crypto online, in stores and at ATMs. Crypto Life powers the card, Baanx developed it in partnership with the program, and Monavate issues it. Apple Pay and Google Pay support covers contactless and mobile payments.
Who is behind it
The card belongs to the broader 1inch ecosystem, co-founded by Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov. They launched the initial 1inch project at the ETHGlobal New York hackathon in May 2019. The wider 1inch Network raised $2.8 million in August 2020 in a round led by Binance Labs, with investors including Galaxy Digital, Greenfield One, Libertus Capital and Dragonfly Capital. In December 2020, it attracted $12 million from investors including Pantera Capital, ParaFi Capital and Nima Capital. Amber Group led its $175 million Series B in December 2021, joined by investors including Jane Street, VanEck, Fenbushi Capital, Alameda Research, Celsius, Nexo, Tribe Capital and Gemini Frontier Fund.
How the card works
When a cardholder pays or withdraws cash, supported crypto is converted into fiat for the transaction. Listed assets include 1INCH, USDT, BTC, LTC, XRP and BXX. The card is prepaid rather than a credit product, and payments can run through Mastercard wherever that network is accepted.
Issuer and availability
Monavate holds FCA authorization as an e-money institution and is a principal Mastercard member. Crypto Life manages the card and its services with Baanx. The card is available for online purchases, in-store transactions and ATM withdrawals, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support.
Track record and risks
In March 2025, an attacker gained unauthorized access to a private key belonging to the owner of a 1inch Labs resolver smart contract. The affected contracts were Fusion v1 resolver contracts, not the 1inch Card. 1inch audited deployed contracts, worked with the DeFi community to flag the attacker’s wallets, and offered a $250,000 reward for information leading to identification.
The card adds issuer and program-manager exposure to the risks of crypto spending. Supported assets are limited to the listed tokens, and converting crypto for purchases can create a tax event depending on the country.

Our review
The 1inch Card combines Mastercard acceptance with crypto spending and mobile-wallet support, while relying on a multi-partner structure between Crypto Life, Baanx and Monavate.
The 1inch Card is a prepaid Mastercard issued by Monavate, powered by Crypto Life and developed with Baanx. Because purchases and ATM withdrawals convert supported crypto into fiat at the point of use, the card works online, in shops and at Mastercard ATMs.
Apple Pay and Google Pay work for mobile payments. The card lists 1INCH, USDT, BTC, LTC, XRP and BXX as supported assets. This prepaid setup is designed for spending an existing crypto balance rather than providing credit. Borrowing against a portfolio is described as part of the wider ecosystem, but that remains separate from the card itself.
Crypto-to-fiat spending can create a taxable disposal, depending on local rules.
1inch has a longer history than the card. Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov launched 1inch in May 2019, and the broader network raised $2.8 million in August 2020 and $175 million in December 2021. In March 2025, an attacker accessed a private key linked to a 1inch Labs Fusion v1 resolver. The incident affected the parent ecosystem rather than the card.

What users say about 1inch Card
Reddit user e6676e3a described 1inch as having low fees and liquidity almost as good as a CEX. Reddit user 0b03eb6e said 1inch Fusion can take a long time for a quick swap.
In their own words
“Try 1inch.com. Almost as good liquidity as a cex. Low fees.”
“Yes you would need Base ETH for gas. However, swaps on 1inch DEX are now gas free 😀”
“They're pretty similar both, in honesty, although I dislike **1inch** fusion, it can take a long time when you just want a quick swap. Usually I end up using **PickleSwap** these days”
“agreed. Can't find an overview of my limit orders, I have no idea how to switch to polygon. It's terrible. still sometimes serves me the old UX, sometimes it redirects. And because of the lack of limit order overview, I've used it to cancel all my pending orders. What's a good alternative?”
“How to use old website Is there a way to still use the old website? The new one is just not usable.”
“1inch has done great work optimizing same-chain swaps, but for true cross-chain stuff I’ve had smoother runs with rubic it connects 100+ blockchains and routes everything non-custodially in one go.”
Scam warning: Impersonators may contact users through fake job offers or support messages. 1inch says its team and support members will not contact users first.
Scam warning: Look-alike sites and fake services using names such as “1linch” can be used to steal funds.

That’s why we will win.
Our risk management team, working with ZeroShadow, SEAL 911, TRM Labs and others, blocked the exploit-linked addresses from the 1inch dApp, 1inch Wallet and 1inch API within the first hour and is adding new ones as they are identified. The same list goes to resolvers and integrators.
Some 1INCH was among the stolen assets. 1INCH is a standard ERC-20 with no freeze or blocklist function, so the stolen tokens can't be frozen by anyone.
We will cooperate fully with Binance and law enforcement on tracing and recovery.

October’s looking pretty big too 👀
The loop itself is Aave: supply WETH, borrow WETH, supply it again, repeat. Same asset on both sides, so the ETH price does not open a gap between collateral and debt. The aWETH balance that comes out of it stays in your wallet and keeps accruing Aave interest.
Aqua puts that same balance behind several positions at once: aWETH/aUSDC, aWETH/aUSDT, whatever pairs your collateral covers. Nothing is spent twice, every fill is limited by what the wallet holds at that moment.
The part that makes it possible: Aave reverts any collateral transfer that would leave a loan…
1inch MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your wallet data: balance, open Aqua positions, quoted liquidity and fees. One prompt to try: “What is my current Aqua margin?” The agent returns how much of your wallet balance backs your positions and how much liquidity that margin is quoting right now.
Nothing leaves your wallet. The agent reads, you decide.
Would you let an agent open a position for you, or is reading as far as it goes?
One line from Michael Egorov, founder of Curve, stayed with us: “If it is real DeFi, no one can take your funds, not even the project you have them in.”
That was the question when Aqua was designed. Should a protocol ever hold your tokens? The answer was no. Aqua contracts hold zero tokens. Your funds stay in your wallet and move only when a swap fills. One wallet can back several positions at once.
Where do you stand: the convenience of a pool that holds your tokens, or a wallet that never lets them go?
