KyberSwap is a non-custodial decentralized exchange aggregator from Kyber Network. Trades split across hundreds of decentralized exchanges and liquidity sources. Smart Settlement compares candidate pools at execution. The product also includes limit orders, cross-chain swaps, liquidity pools and KyberDAO governance.
Company and token
KyberSwap was founded in 2017 by Loi Luu, who is identified as Kyber Network's founder and co-founder. Kyber Network's ecosystem includes KNC, an ERC-20 utility and governance token. Holders can stake in KyberDAO to vote on proposals and receive rewards generated from KyberSwap trading activity, while KyberDAO retains authority to change token supply and other behaviour.
How KyberSwap works
Trading takes place from a connected Web3 wallet, so the platform does not hold user assets. Supported chains include Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Fantom, Binance Smart Chain, Cronos, Oasis, Aurora, BitTorrent, Arbitrum and Linea. The aggregator searches liquidity across those networks and can split an order across multiple venues to reduce slippage on high-volume routes. The application also lists limit orders, cross-chain trading, KyberEarn pools and vaults.
Introduced in May 2026, Smart Settlement compares candidate pools onchain at execution. Cross-chain swap routes combine bridge and swap steps. Liquidity providers can also use KyberZap to add liquidity with any token.
Fees and availability
KyberSwap displays estimated output, price impact and the minimum received before a swap. Network gas costs affect the final result. Cross-chain transactions introduce bridge and destination-chain execution risks.
Track record and risks
KyberSwap launched on Ethereum mainnet in 2018 and deployed on Linea in July 2023. Published security work names Omniscia, Spearbit and Hexens, while a ChainSecurity audit covers Kyber Network's Dynamic Market Maker. On November 22, 2023, an exploit affected certain KyberSwap Elastic Liquidity Pools, causing unauthorized asset extraction and leaving some assets inaccessible. On February 7, 2024, KyberSwap reported that its Treasury Grant Program had distributed grants covering 100% of affected funds to users who applied.
Users still face smart-contract, oracle and pricing risks. MEV and thin liquidity can affect long-tail pairs. Returns on pools and vaults depend on token incentives and underlying market conditions.
