DEX aggregator routing swaps across 18+ networks, including Ethereum and Solana
What is 1inch?
1inch is a non-custodial DEX aggregator that combines liquidity from multiple venues to find swap routes and prices. Its products now cover intent-based swaps, cross-chain transfers, a wallet, portfolio tracking, payments and Web3 APIs. The platform reports $815B+ in cumulative swap volume, 267M+ total swaps and 28M+ connected wallets as of October 2026.
Who is behind it
Anton Bukov and Sergej Kunz co-founded 1inch in 2019. The project raised $2.8 million in August 2020, followed by $12 million from Pantera Capital, ParaFi Capital and Nima Capital in December 2020. Amber Group led its $175 million Series B in December 2021, with more than 50 investors participating. Other named investors included Jane Street, VanEck, Fenbushi Capital, Alameda Research, Celsius, Nexo, Tribe Capital and Gemini Frontier Fund.
How the swap works
A trader connects a wallet, selects assets and receives a route assembled from available liquidity sources. 1inch supports Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Gnosis, Avalanche, zkSync Era, Base, Linea, Unichain, Sonic, Solana, Robinhood, Monad, Cronos and HyperEVM. Its Fusion system uses intent-based execution, while cross-chain swaps move assets between supported networks without requiring the trader to bridge them directly. The service is non-custodial, so the connected wallet signs transactions and retains control of funds.
Fees and availability
The 1inch dApp charges no protocol fee. Network gas, liquidity-provider charges and price impact can still affect the final swap. API users pay infrastructure fees ranging from 2 to 30 bps, depending on the plan and asset type, as of 2026. The products are available in the USA and Europe, subject to sanctions and other restrictions. Specific products and assets may have additional limits, and some US states face restrictions.
Track record and risks
1inch publishes security materials that include an audit report alongside wallet screening. Two incidents recorded in the platform's history involved a $723,000 supply-chain attack on October 31, 2024, and a $5 million arbitrary external-call incident on March 7, 2025.
Routing does not remove smart-contract or slippage risk. Thin liquidity can affect long-tail pairs, and cross-chain execution adds smart-contract and settlement dependencies. Front-end access can vary by jurisdiction.

Our review
1inch offers broad non-custodial routing and cross-chain swaps, while smart-contract risk, past exploits and variable execution costs remain material trade-offs.
1inch is a DEX aggregator. Its contracts compare liquidity across venues and split orders across routes, while Fusion adds intent-based execution. That model can improve quoted prices and reduce the need to inspect several DEXs manually. The main trade-off is execution complexity: final results still depend on liquidity, slippage, gas and the venues used in a route.
Chain coverage is broad. The product lists Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Gnosis, Avalanche, zkSync Era, Base, Linea, Unichain, Sonic, Solana, Robinhood, Monad, Cronos and HyperEVM. It also supports cross-chain swaps across 18+ networks without requiring the user to bridge assets directly. Support and asset availability can differ by route. The site reports $815B+ in cumulative swap volume, 267M+ swaps and 28M+ connected wallets as of October 2026.
The dApp charges no protocol fee, while API plans charge 2 to 30 basis points depending on the plan and asset type as of 2026. Network costs and price impact still affect the transaction.
1inch is non-custodial, and its security tools include wallet screening and MEV protection. An audit report is linked from its security material, but the record also includes a $723,000 supply-chain attack on October 31, 2024, and a $5M arbitrary external call incident on March 7, 2025. Those events weigh against treating the interface or routing system as low risk. Smart-contract exploits and thin liquidity on long-tail pairs remain relevant.
Anton Bukov and Sergej Kunz co-founded 1inch in 2019. The company raised $175M in a December 2021 Series B led by Amber Group, after earlier $12M and $2.8M rounds. The product fits self-custody traders who want multi-venue routing and broad network access.

What users say about 1inch
Reviews mention simple wallet use, fast swaps, favorable rates, low fees, and liquidity comparable to a centralized exchange. Negative reviews report failed transfers, accessibility problems, login issues, and dissatisfaction with a wallet redesign. Several reviews also report scams involving the app.
In their own words
“Great experience I love using the 1inch app,its intuitive UI, fast swap speeds, and great rates make managing my crypto a smooth experience!”
“Try 1inch.com. Almost as good liquidity as a cex. Low fees.”
“Simple and Best I liked the simplicity of the wallet, shows what you need precisely. No other fuss! Also, authentication and authorization with DeFi app works perfectly fine, whereas I had issues with other popular wallets for same like Coinbase Wallet and Trust wallet in some cases.”
“GUI Redesign Fail The aesthetic of this wallet was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, that design was blown up in the latest push. Plain, less customizable wallet graphics, extra click to “view all”.”
“Guys your wallet keeps pending when i want to withdraw it keep pending status even after clearing it and remove cache. Your chatbot doesnt get me any further.”
“Swap does not work When trying to make a swap, neither the cap limit nor the swap seem to work. Furthermore, the price is significantly different (favorable) from the actual one. But the trade expires after 2 minutes.”

That’s why we will win.
Our risk management team, working with ZeroShadow, SEAL 911, TRM Labs and others, blocked the exploit-linked addresses from the 1inch dApp, 1inch Wallet and 1inch API within the first hour and is adding new ones as they are identified. The same list goes to resolvers and integrators.
Some 1INCH was among the stolen assets. 1INCH is a standard ERC-20 with no freeze or blocklist function, so the stolen tokens can't be frozen by anyone.
We will cooperate fully with Binance and law enforcement on tracing and recovery.

October’s looking pretty big too 👀
The loop itself is Aave: supply WETH, borrow WETH, supply it again, repeat. Same asset on both sides, so the ETH price does not open a gap between collateral and debt. The aWETH balance that comes out of it stays in your wallet and keeps accruing Aave interest.
Aqua puts that same balance behind several positions at once: aWETH/aUSDC, aWETH/aUSDT, whatever pairs your collateral covers. Nothing is spent twice, every fill is limited by what the wallet holds at that moment.
The part that makes it possible: Aave reverts any collateral transfer that would leave a loan…
1inch MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your wallet data: balance, open Aqua positions, quoted liquidity and fees. One prompt to try: “What is my current Aqua margin?” The agent returns how much of your wallet balance backs your positions and how much liquidity that margin is quoting right now.
Nothing leaves your wallet. The agent reads, you decide.
Would you let an agent open a position for you, or is reading as far as it goes?
One line from Michael Egorov, founder of Curve, stayed with us: “If it is real DeFi, no one can take your funds, not even the project you have them in.”
That was the question when Aqua was designed. Should a protocol ever hold your tokens? The answer was no. Aqua contracts hold zero tokens. Your funds stay in your wallet and move only when a swap fills. One wallet can back several positions at once.
Where do you stand: the convenience of a pool that holds your tokens, or a wallet that never lets them go?
