The Crypto.com Visa Card is a custodial prepaid Visa card issued and promoted by Foris MT Limited under its Visa Principal Member license. Cardholders top it up through the Crypto.com App, then spend the loaded fiat balance in shops, online or at ATMs. Eligible everyday spending earns CRO rewards of up to 4.5%, depending on the card tier and programme terms.
Company and issuer
Crypto.com runs the card programme. Its co-founders are Kris Marszalek, CEO and a former CEO of Ensogo; Bobby Bao, Head of Corporate Development; Gary Or, the founding CTO; and Rafael Melo, CFO with roughly 15 years of finance experience. Crypto.com is headquartered in Singapore, while its parent company is based in Malta. The card issuer named in the card terms is Foris MT Limited, a Malta company with registration number C 90348.
How the card works
The card is prepaid rather than a debit card linked directly to a bank account. Funds can come from the Crypto.com Wallet, Cash Account or another credit or debit card. Cryptocurrency cannot be loaded directly. Crypto is converted into the relevant market currency before the balance is loaded. The card is available in Visa format, and the programme uses Level Up to determine eligibility, CRO lockup or subscription requirements, and rewards.
Spending rewards are paid in CRO to the Crypto Wallet after eligible transactions. The card page lists CRO rewards from 0% to 4.5% on everyday spending, with tier-specific monthly limits. Crypto.com Travel rewards range from up to 5% to 40%, depending on the tier.
Fees and limits
Midnight Blue has no subscription fee. Ruby Steel costs €3.99 per month or €39.90 yearly, or requires €450 in 12-month CRO staking. Jade Green and Royal Indigo cost €24.99 monthly or €249.90 yearly, or require €4,500 in 12-month CRO staking. Higher tiers require CRO lockups of €45,000 or €450,000 for 12 months.
Free ATM withdrawals range from €200 to €1,000 per month by tier. The ATM withdrawal cap is €10,000 per month, and the aggregated top-up limit is €25,000 per month. ATM and top-up charges depend on the jurisdiction and card tier. Exchange charges also depend on these terms.
Availability and risks
The card is offered in the United States, United Kingdom, and EEA, with eligibility determined by country and account onboarding. Identity verification is required, and higher tiers can involve deeper KYC checks. Rewards are paid in CRO, so their value changes with the token. CRO lockups also expose cardholders to a volatile asset while funds remain committed.
Crypto.com reported an unauthorized-withdrawal security incident in January 2022, involving about $30 million in reported losses. The card is custodial, so access depends on Crypto.com and its issuer. Programme benefits can change under the applicable terms.
