Meld is a digital-asset on-ramp and off-ramp network for apps that need to move users between fiat, stablecoins and other crypto assets. Its single API connects businesses with more than 50 network partners across 184 countries, while Meld Onramp Intelligence scores providers by price, payment-method coverage, conversion and reliability.
Company and funding
Founder and CEO Pankaj Bangani leads Meld. The company announced a $7 million strategic funding round in January 2026, led by Lightspeed Faction with participation from F-Prime, Yolo Investments and Scytale Digital. Meld also lists partnerships with Banxa, Binance Connect, Plaid, MX and Onramp Money.
How the network works
Meld gives developers one API for buying and selling digital assets, transfers, remittances and payroll. Its scoring system selects an on-ramp or off-ramp for each transaction using price, payment-method breadth, conversion and settlement performance. The network updates its RampScore using millions of monthly transactions.
Identity Orchestration provides bank-linking and KYC flows across the network. Meld says it does not store individual identity documents or payment-method information. Coverage includes 150+ fiat currencies, 54 payment methods and support for 184 countries. An Onramp Money integration covers 60 countries, 32 fiat currencies, 15 payment methods and 629 cryptocurrencies.
Fees and availability
The final cost depends on the selected ramp partner, payment method and transaction. Meld’s published examples rank providers by quoted purchase price, but do not establish one network-wide fee. Regional availability also depends on the partner, local payment rails and supported assets. KYC can be handled through the network’s identity orchestration flow.
Track record and risks
Meld reported a reach of 3 billion people and 50+ network partners in October 2026. Its website describes the platform as SOC 2 compliant, independently audited and independently penetration-tested. These controls apply to Meld’s systems, while users remain exposed to the selected ramp’s policies and operational record.
The model adds partner and banking dependencies. Card or local-rail fees and exchange spreads can vary by provider. KYC reviews can delay transactions or restrict access, and country coverage does not mean every asset or payment method is available in every location.
