1inch Wallet
Self-custodial mobile wallet with built-in DEX routing across more than 18 blockchains
What is 1inch Wallet?
1inch Wallet is a non-custodial mobile cryptocurrency wallet developed by 1inch Network. Designed around decentralized exchange routing, the app integrates liquidity aggregation directly into its interface. Users can swap, transfer, and monitor digital assets across more than 18 blockchain networks without handing custody to an intermediary.
Who is behind the wallet
The product was developed by the 1inch team, founded in 2019 by Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov. Kunz is a software engineer and cybersecurity specialist who previously worked at Porsche and consultancy Mimacom, while Bukov has worked as a software developer since 2002 with a focus on decentralized finance starting in 2017. The parent entity, 1inch Limited, is headquartered in Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and operates with a team of roughly 100 to 150 employees.
How custody and swaps work
1inch Wallet operates strictly on a self-custodial model. Private keys remain on the device, with encrypted backup options available through local storage, Apple iCloud snapshots on iOS, or Google Drive on Android. The wallet supports networks including Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Avalanche, Linea, Sonic, Monad, and zkSync Era. Instead of requiring external dApps for trading, token swaps execute natively using 1inch aggregation algorithms and intent-based routing. The system routes orders with MEV protection and offers gasless execution modes on supported routes, alongside hardware wallet connectivity via Ledger and an internal Web3 browser.
Fees and availability
Downloading and using 1inch Wallet requires no account creation or identity verification. Base wallet operations like sending and holding tokens incur no provider fee beyond network transaction costs. Swaps routed in gasless execution modes carry zero gas fees for the user. The application is distributed globally on mobile platforms through the Apple App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
Track record and protocol security
The underlying 1inch infrastructure has processed over 267 million swaps totaling more than $815 billion in volume across 28 million connected wallets. The protocol contracts and wallet mechanisms have undergone multiple third-party audits by specialized security firms. In March 2025, an unauthorized access exploit targeted an outdated Fusion v1 parser contract, resulting in the theft of approximately $5 million from institutional resolvers. No end-user wallet balances or private keys were compromised during the incident, and 1inch offered a $250,000 bounty for the return of the funds.
Risks and product limitations
Because 1inch Wallet is self-custodial, users are solely responsible for securing their seed phrases or cloud backup credentials, with lost phrases resulting in permanent loss of funds. The wallet is focused primarily on mobile operating systems, lacking a dedicated native desktop client. Users trading illiquid pairs or on non-gasless routes remain subject to slippage and onchain gas costs.

Our review
1inch Wallet delivers robust self-custody and deep DEX aggregation across over 18 networks, though mobile-only availability limits users seeking dedicated desktop or browser extension workflows.
1inch Wallet is a self-custodial mobile cryptocurrency wallet developed by 1inch Network, founded in 2019 by Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov. The app centers on trading execution, integrating native DEX aggregation algorithms directly into the mobile interface. Users retain direct control of private keys, while swap operations tap into unified liquidity across 18+ supported networks including Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, and Avalanche.
The app differs from simpler wallets primarily through its swap execution and security controls. Swaps executed through supported modes are gasless and benefit from built-in MEV protection, shielding transactions from front-running and sandwich attacks. Beyond mobile device security, the wallet supports hardware cold storage through Ledger integrations. Backup options provide flexibility: users can manage standard seed phrases, export encrypted backup files, or enable cloud-synced backups via Apple iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on Android.
However, the application carries concrete trade-offs:
- The wallet is restricted to iOS and Android, offering no desktop client or native browser extension.
- Smart contract dependencies carry risks, as seen in March 2025 when an exploit on an outdated Fusion v1 parser contract resulted in a $5 million loss from resolvers.
- Users managing simple long-term holdings may find the dense aggregation features, custom gas settings, and DeFi routing tools heavier than required for basic storage.
1inch Wallet suits active onchain traders and users seeking optimized swap rates with MEV protection from a mobile device. Users who prefer browser extensions for continuous desktop dApp interactions or who avoid cloud backup architectures should look toward alternatives.

In their own words
“Great experience I love using the 1inch app,its intuitive UI, fast swap speeds, and great rates make managing my crypto a smooth experience!”
“Simple and Best I liked the simplicity of the wallet, shows what you need precisely. No other fuss! Also, authentication and authorization with DeFi app works perfectly fine, whereas I had issues with other popular wallets for same like Coinbase Wallet and Trust wallet in some cases.”
“GUI Redesign Fail The aesthetic of this wallet was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, that design was blown up in the latest push. Plain, less customizable wallet graphics, extra click to “view all”.”
“Guys my wallet keeps on pending when i want to send eth. I can only receive. The wallet keeps pending transaction. When i remove the pending one and try again the same thing happens. I clear3d cache and also tries it via the browser but i doenst work my crypto is stuck now.”
“I’m out here today because there’s no option to disable the fusion swap and just do a normal swap🤦♂️”

That’s why we will win.
Our risk management team, working with ZeroShadow, SEAL 911, TRM Labs and others, blocked the exploit-linked addresses from the 1inch dApp, 1inch Wallet and 1inch API within the first hour and is adding new ones as they are identified. The same list goes to resolvers and integrators.
Some 1INCH was among the stolen assets. 1INCH is a standard ERC-20 with no freeze or blocklist function, so the stolen tokens can't be frozen by anyone.
We will cooperate fully with Binance and law enforcement on tracing and recovery.

October’s looking pretty big too 👀
The loop itself is Aave: supply WETH, borrow WETH, supply it again, repeat. Same asset on both sides, so the ETH price does not open a gap between collateral and debt. The aWETH balance that comes out of it stays in your wallet and keeps accruing Aave interest.
Aqua puts that same balance behind several positions at once: aWETH/aUSDC, aWETH/aUSDT, whatever pairs your collateral covers. Nothing is spent twice, every fill is limited by what the wallet holds at that moment.
The part that makes it possible: Aave reverts any collateral transfer that would leave a loan…
1inch MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your wallet data: balance, open Aqua positions, quoted liquidity and fees. One prompt to try: “What is my current Aqua margin?” The agent returns how much of your wallet balance backs your positions and how much liquidity that margin is quoting right now.
Nothing leaves your wallet. The agent reads, you decide.
Would you let an agent open a position for you, or is reading as far as it goes?
One line from Michael Egorov, founder of Curve, stayed with us: “If it is real DeFi, no one can take your funds, not even the project you have them in.”
That was the question when Aqua was designed. Should a protocol ever hold your tokens? The answer was no. Aqua contracts hold zero tokens. Your funds stay in your wallet and move only when a swap fills. One wallet can back several positions at once.
Where do you stand: the convenience of a pool that holds your tokens, or a wallet that never lets them go?
