Reflective Ventures
About Reflective Ventures
Reflective Ventures, operating as Reflective Venture Partners, was a blockchain venture capital firm founded in Seattle, Washington, in 2018. Established through a strategic partnership with the RChain Cooperative, it financed and incubated decentralized applications and technical tooling built for the RChain protocol.
History and team
In February 2018, plans were announced to deploy token capital supplied by the RChain Cooperative, aiming to invest the cryptocurrency equivalent of over $190 million into early-stage projects. Managing partner Greg Heuss led the firm alongside general partners David Otto and Steve Careaga. Its investment team included venture partners Kevin Valentine and Mrinal Manohar, who subsequently co-founded and served as chief executive officer of Casper Labs, alongside principal Lee Carter and senior associate Shahan Khoshafian.
Portfolio and operations
Reflective Ventures deployed capital into distributed ledger infrastructure and applications. In March 2018, the fund participated in the $18 million private financing round for Open Platform and took part in the $1.07 million public token sale for oracle network Witnet. Energy tracking protocol Swytch also received backing during 2018. Alongside direct investments, Reflective Ventures entered ecosystem partnerships with companies including Augmate Corporation and Access Network.
Operations ceased following the financial wind-down and dissolution of the RChain Cooperative. The firm has not made new investments or maintained an active presence since the decommissioning of its website.
